Greenspace in the heart of the village of Carmel-by-the-Sea on Dolores Street between Ocean and Seventh Avenues, a place to rest and refresh. Through the efforts of the Carmel-by-the-Sea Garden Club with the support of the City, civic-minded individuals and organizations, Piccadilly Park was redesignated open space in 1997. Designed by landscape architect Walter Guthrie, the park demonstrates the use of drought-tolerant species appropriate to our area, climate and water-conservation needs. Ornamental and native species were selected with this in mind. California's unique botanical legacy is reflected by plants that grow nowhere else in the world and a few only in limited areas of the state. Some of the plants to be seen at Piccadilly: |
